I believe that learning is a lifelong activity that doesn't stop outside of the classroom door.  Since children will be figuring things out for their entire lives, it is important to teach kids how to learn.  This means that we focus on the strategies that help us to learn, as well as the content that we are learning.  For example - instead of just giving students information to memorize and repeat back (although that type of learning has it's place), I try to help students to understand what information they need to find, where to find it, and how to use it effectively.  I believe that understanding how to apply the learning process in different situations will help students to thrive throughout their lives.

Your children are important to me.  I will always endeavor to do my best to support them in any way that I can.  If you have a concern, please feel free to contact me.  I look forward to working with you to help your children to succeed in school this year.
